So close yet so far for the Welwitschias
Being in the competition to learn from the best, the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias have brought on board new faces in the reserve team ahead of their Currie Cup qualifiers clash against Down Touch Griffons tomorrow.
Western Suburb’s Aleck Botha, Kudu’s Aurelio Plato and Thomas Khali will be the new faces on the Welwitschia’s bench when the team plays Griffons at the Hage Geingob Cup stadium.
Zayne Groenewaldt will be back on the field this weekend after being on the bench for close to four games, while prop Casper Viviers makes his second start since joining the team from his French Club, Saint Nazaire.
Lesley Klim has taken on the duty after JC Greyling suffered a concussion against the Leopards as the coach also rests Johann Tromp and brings on Riaan van Zyl.
The team is yet to book their win in the competition as they remain rooted at the bottom of the log stand with only while their opponents are sixth with 19 points.
The match is set to kick off at 15:00.
