The Table Tennis Team League competition kicked off with the first of two legs contested at Jan Wilken Indoor Sport Complex in Walvis Bay on Saturday.
Sport Club Windhoek (SKW) is firmly in control with 6-4 and 8-2 wins over Hochland Aces (HATTC) and Walvis Bay (WBTTC) in the A-League on Saturday.
SKW was by far the most accomplished team and produced spectacular table tennis of very high standard. HATTC is in second place with WBTTC 3rd. WBTTC’s Derrick Rooza put up a brave fight at his home ground and won four of his six matches.
In the B-League HATTC 2 is the forerunner after 8-2 and 10-0 wins over SKW 2 and Swakop Football Club Table Tennis Club respectively. SKW 2 is in second place and the Swakopmunders third.
The NTTA thanked Derrick and Maggie Rooza of WBTTC for hosting the event.
The second and final leg of the competition will take place in Windhoek on November 19, 2016.
Results
A League: SKW 1 vs WBTTC: 8-2, HATTC 1 vs WBTTC: 8-2 and SKW 1 vs HATTC 1: 6-4.
B League: HATTC 2 vs SFCTTC: 10-0, SKW 2 vs SFCTTC: 10-0 and HATTC 2 vs SKW 2: 8-2.
