Khomas have emerged victorious, after a thrilling Skorpion Zinc U-17 Cup tournament that produced some stunning goals over the long weekend.

The Khomas Region were crowned champions of the 2019 Skorpion Zinc Under-17 Cup yesterday, following a 3-0 victory over Omaheke at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
Two first half goals from Raymonzo Stern and Romeo Amon ensured that the host region took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Fillipo Micheletti’s goal in the second half sealed their triumph.
Omaheke ended the match with 10 men, after their Uisel Uanuapi was sent off for reckless play.
Khomas reached the final after beating Oshikoto 2-0 in their semi-final clash.
Omaheke beat Zambezi 4-2 on penalties to reach the final.
Khomas booked their semi-final berth via a 3-1 victory over Erongo in their final group match on Sunday.
Omaheke qualified from group B as the top-ranked team, following their three victories and one loss during the group stages.
It was a thrilling four days of youthful football, as the regions went out guns-blazing to challenge for the prestigious trophy.
The opening five matches produced 12 goals.
On Friday, the boys produced 27 goals in nine matches and on Saturday and Sunday 42 goals were scored in total.
Erongo opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Otjozondjupa in a highly entertaining clash.
The second match of the tournament saw Zambezi take on Kunene.

Organisers said the tournament had a positive influence on the players, as it provided a platform for them to socialise.
Khomas won the maiden edition of the tournament in Keetmanshoop in 2013, while Omusati collected the trophy in 2014, 2015 and 2017. There was no tournament in 2018.
