Simon Junior makes his debut
Next week's boxing bonanza organised by Salute Boxing Academy at the Country Club in Windhoek promises to be an entertaining affair as new talents come to the fore to show off their punching power.
Among the newcomers is Harry Simon Junior, son of former super welterweight champion Harry Simon. Simon Senior coaches his son and says he is a force to be reckoned with.
“The guy is just 18 years old but he is a gifted boxer. I don't know if he will break my records but one does not know in boxing, so let's wait and see what he can do. He is also arrogant and that might help him in his fighting career,” he said.
Simon Junior will meet the slightly more experienced Sam Shaama in a four-round fight that could make or break him as a fighter.
The bonanza, which initially had only nine fights, will now feature 11 fights of which three are for national titles.
Nathanael 'Natty' Kakolo says he is super-fit and ready for his fight against Dominicus Weyulu. The two will contend for the featherweight interim national title.
“I'm ready, come and see the fight and see the best man win,” Kakolo said.
Tickets can be bought at Computicket. General tickets cost N$100, VIP tickets N$200 and a table for ten N$7000.
The full fight card is as follows:
