Zandria Venter was born and raised in Windhoek. She matriculated in 2013 at Windhoek Gymnasium private school.

She graduated from North-West University (NWU) in 2016 with a BCom Law degree and started her first job in the financial industry in 2017.

She was a trainee wealth manager at PSG Wealth Management Namibia and that is where her passion for the financial industry developed. In 2018 Venter finished her stockbroking examinations and in 2019 she did a postgraduate diploma in business administration at the University of Namibia. She completed a postgraduate diploma in financial planning at the University of the Free State in 2020 and started her career at Stanlib Namibia in April 2020.

Venter is a business development consultant for Stanlib Namibia. Her job description is to develop the retail distribution networks of financial advisers, independent financial advisers, tied agents, platforms and channels.

When asked how she has found this position so far, she said it has been an absolute blessing and honour. “I am part of a very performance-driven team, learning so much every day,” she said.

One of her biggest accomplishments is that they managed to increase business revenue to the highest level in the last year, which makes her proud to be part of the Stanlib Namibia team.

One of the biggest challenges is to differentiate themselves in a saturated market. “I believe our team have a lot of passion for what we do and we are very service-driven and in the end, hard work always pays off,” she says.

The most challenging aspect of this job is the building of relationships, she says: “It is the most challenging, getting someone to believe in your product and to trust you.”

Success in this position

“I think success in this position is the feeling of satisfaction of accomplishing what you planned to do, and a burning desire to do more. I measure success by way of satisfaction, effort and a positive attitude. I will always go the extra mile and provide my best. I will do everything with integrity and trust to reach a goal or complete a task.

“To measure success by way of satisfaction is difficult because one will always strive to be better, but I have concluded that I can be satisfied and still pursue more. I think it is good to feel satisfied with my results as it is a celebration of small victories along the way,” Venter adds.

Venter intends to continue her studies because in the words of Nelson Mandela, “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

“I am going to strive to climb the corporate ladder by taking all the opportunities available,” she says.
