Shikongo, Nambala into the finals

Paralympic athletes Ananias Shikongo and Johannes Nambala are through to the finals in their respective events at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.
Shikongo with his guide Even Tjiviju ran a time of 11:33 seconds, thus taking second place to qualify for the 100 m final. In the 100 m heat, Athanasios Ghavelas of Greece took first place (10:99) and in third place was Lucas Prado of Brazil in a time of 11:44 seconds.
Nambala took second place in the 400 m semi-final in a time of 48.52 seconds to book his place in the final.
In the semi-final heat, Morocco’s Mohamed Amguoun took first place, with the third place going to Aleksandr Shirin of the Russian Federation.
Namibian Lahja Ishitile will compete today in the women’s 200 m heat.
