Interpack Consumable Manufacturers CC has sponsored three of the five Timeout Beach Volleyball Series events for the year.
“We are humbled by their support and are looking forward to working with them again this year,” said tournament organiser, James Verrinder. For this weekend’s event, Tropizone Aqua has sponsored N$6 000 which will be used as the cash prize money.
This weekend’s event is remarkable as sand from the Kalahari Desert was specially transported to the Tivoli Southern Sky Guest Farm to create three unique beach volleyball courts.
“It has taken the Schreiber family (Reinhold, Kirsten, Dennis and Damian) three months to prepare for this event, with tons of sand being transported from the nearby Kalahari dune,” Verrinder informed.
“This location was specially picked to complement the beach volleyball image; sun, sand and the great outdoors, which Namibia has to offer in spades,” Verrinder continued.
