PDK to perform Odikwa
Awesome 2017 brings the best together
Patrick, Dion and Kamutonyo (PDK) will celebrate the success of their chart-topping album Odikwa next week at the Awesome 2017 event.
The trio, since leaving Omalaeti, have been doing nothing but proving to their fans that they are still the best entertainment group and can do just fine on their own. Although it has not been easy to cut the umbilical cord with the label, the artists are doing just fine on their own. Odikwa, their latest album is amongst the best-selling albums over the past four months since its release in August despite not having been launched in Windhoek yet. “We only launched it Walvis Bay, Rundu and Katima Mulilo. The response was tremendous. We are now expecting a full house,” says Patrick.
The track Ondjema is the most requested track on the album and the trio says it speaks for itself. “We have cleared the ground for the thousands that will come sample the album and it is going to be the bomb, especially considering we are all done with our studies and there are no distractions,” he said.
Odikwa is their first album outside Omalaeti and the trip says they will drop all their previous hit songs and have lined up several selling points at Awesome 2017 for those who want to grab a copy. “Things are taking a new shape and music industry has its own dynamics we will follow. Videos are coming soon and they will also change the game,” says Kamutonyo.
Awesome 2017 musical event has roped in veteran musician Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi and Zimbabwean dancehall star Soul Jah Love, while Oteya, Sally, One Blood, Dion and Famaz Attak, make up the list of what promises to be an epic Windhoek night. Awesome 2017 tickets are on sale in Pick n Pay outlets throughout the country. The event will take place at the City of Windhoek new parking lot next Saturday from 14:00.
