The Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) hosted another exciting edition of its premium live stream concerts on Saturday, 17 October.
Featuring the categories for best hip hop/ rap artist of the year, best R&B artist of the year, pan-African artist of year and song of the year, the event saw trailblazing trio PDK announced as the big winner of the night.
Scooping the coveted song of the year award with their smash hit ‘Saka’ featuring Athawise, King Elegant and TopCheri, the trio thanked their fans on Instagram. “Congratulations to us all; fans, friends and family, we did great. The proof of your votes is in the victory, we appreciate you.”

‘Pushing like a newcomer’
Meanwhile, rapper Cassidy Karon - Katutura’s favourite son, as he affectionately refers to himself - clinched the best hip hop/rap artist of the year award with the song Chains, which features fellow rapper, Romi.
“It has been 11 years; pushing like a newcomer every single year and every single drop of sweat was worth it.
“Spadez Pro, you made the call that made this song exist. Romi, this is as much yours as it is mine. Thanks for bringing this home for us,” said Cassidy.
Lastly, duo Ethnix scooped the best R&B artist of the year award with ‘Composure’, while South Africa’s DJ Zinhle was awarded the pan-African artist of the year award for ‘Umlilo’ featuring Mvzzle and Rethabile.
