Namibia’s under-20 side, the Young Warriors are out of the under – 20 Cosafa championships after drawing 0-0 with Zimbabwe today.
Zimbabwe dominated the first have and had a lot of chances to score a lot of goals but missed many chance.
Even though their defence was shaky the young Namibians initiated attacks as Leonard Tuhafeni’s shot hit the crossbar much to the frustration of coach Gerald Gunther in the dying manners of the first half.
In the second half Zimbabwe opened the second half hungrier and had chances squandered. In the 70th minute Tuhafeni again missed a header when Zimbabwe’s goalie came off his line.
Johannes Hollombach of Namibia was the Man of the Match and said they did everything to score but the goals were not coming as the Zimbabwe’s defence was tight.
Bekithemba Ndlovu, Zimbabwe’s coach said his players played well and deserve to play for the national team. “They should keep their heads high because they played well.”
Namibia beat Angola 1-0 in their opening encounter, and because they didn’t not add to their winning streak, losing 2-1 to Lesotho on Sunday it counted against them in the end.
Lesotho are through to the semi-final from Group C.
