Namibia Business School introduces new Gigonomics course
Gigonomics is a new course offered at the Namibia Business School, which teaches entrepreneurs, specifically those who survive on gigs and bookings, to grow their business.

Covid-19 has caused a negative impact on entrepreneurship, some companies were forced to close and many have retrenched their staff. In response to this, Namibia Business School (NBS) built a programme to guide and equip entrepreneurs with the skills to keep their businesses afloat. The programme’s schedule is very flexible. Courses will be offered on Saturdays via Zoom for six weeks, starting from 5 September. The Zoom lessons will begin at 09:00 and will provide for engagement between the lecturers and the students for 90 minutes each session. Upon completion of the course, which means joining all six Zoom sessions, a certificate of completion will be given to the attendee along with a study guide.
The course will help you develop your business idea to suit your market, and it will cover the business basics or lay a foundation you need in order to successfully navigate your business.
Additionally, it puts the attendee in a position to decide in which line of business to apply their new skills in.
In the final Zoom session, the host will challenge attendees with strategic planning. This will allow attendees to apply what they have learned and motivate them to start planning for their business.
The programme was specifically designed for “gigapreneurs”- people who survive on gigs such as make-up artists and programmers, business consultants and the like, while also catering to those who have a full-time job and a side hustle.
“The one is not more important than the other because we want entrepreneurship to blossom in Namibia, in hopes that that will benefit our economy,” NBS says.
Individuals outside Namibia are also encouraged to register for the course.
“The course is online; payment is done online and we have all felt the aftermaths of Covid-19.”
NBS says this is their way of lending a helping hand in a time of crisis.
“Our economy needs every boost it can get, and this is your chance to finally start the business you've been putting off for so long.”
The price for one course is N$199. The complete programme of six courses is offered for N$950.
