Nakathila tournament returns

Namibian boxer Jeremiah ‘Low-Key’ Nakathila is ready to put his boxing gloves aside and ensure that players put on their football boots with the return of his local tournament next month.
The tournament is set to take place between 22 and 24 December at Okahulo Field, Onesi Uukolonkadhi.
Preparations for the second edition of the Jeremiah Nakathila Annual Tournament are at an advanced stage.
The tournament will offer N$15 000 in prize money this time around, compared to the N$10 000 the teams played for last year.
“We are ready to make the dreams of young football aspirants a reality because these guys love the game.
“The tournament will once again attract a number of top teams from all walks of life,” Nakathila said.
Simeon Hilukilwa of Judo Investment will continue helping Jeremiah Nakathila out with medals acquired from OTB Sport.
Nakathila thanked Hilukilwa for remaining on board to make sure that everything goes according to plan.
“I want to continue thanking my sponsor for staying committed to us and bringing football to the people,” he added.
Registration for the tournament costs N$1 000 per team, including the legend category.
The date for the registration is 15 December, with the draw set for the same date at Onesi.
The team that wins the competition takes home N$6 000, accompanied by a trophy and gold medals, while the team that loses in the final get N$5 000, while second prize gets N$4 500. Third prize will walk away with N$1 500.
“I am a football lover and it is always important for me to see young stars coming up and playing the beautiful game.
“The aim of the tournament is to give youngsters the opportunity to realise their dreams of playing in big tournaments,” Nakathila said.
