WINDHOEK

World Boxing Organisation global junior lightweight champion Jeremiah ‘Low-Key’ Nakathila has vowed to demolish Tanzania’s Emmanuel Amos on Saturday.

The two boxers will face off at the Windhoek Country Club in the main fight of the night at MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy’s bonanza.

Titled ‘Together as One Part 2’, the bonanza will see a total of 12 fights on the night, which will feature the likes of Mikka Shonena, Sam Mathews, Charles Shinima, Tinashe Zihove, Petson Mutengwa and Harry Simon Junior.

‘I will be on fire’

“I would like to thank our main sponsor MTC for making this fight possible.

“I will be on fire on Saturday and will demolish Amos,” Nakathila promised.

“The preparations have gone very well and all the guys I train with are ready to put up a great show. I will give him a few rounds before I stop him somewhere in the fight,” he said.

The Namibian boasts a record of 20 wins and one defeat in 21 fights.

He will come up against the Tanzanian who has fought 19 times with 15 wins, one draw and three losses.

Tough opponent

Amos, who admitted that he faces a tough opponent, vowed to deliver a great performance.

“I am aware of how good Nakathila is but I am here to compete because I am also a very good boxer.

“I would like to thank MTC and Nestor Tobias for giving me the opportunity to come and fight in Namibia,” he said.

Behind closed doors

Promoter Nestor Tobias also lauded MTC for sponsoring the academy.

He further announced that the fight will take place behind closed doors and only a limited number of individuals will be allowed to enter.

“The Namibia Broadcasting Cooperation will be there to showcase the main fights of the night live.

“This is an opportunity to all the fighters to shine,” Tobias said.

The first bout of the night between Fillemon Nghitenyane and Adreas Amupolo will start at 18:30, followed by five other fights before the second phase, which will see another six pairs of boxers trading leather.
