Flourishing boxer Jeremiah 'Low-Key' Nakathila revealed the names of four boxers in his division he would like to cross swords with in the near future.

The 30-year-old boxer, who boasts 20 fights, 19 wins and one loss, has his eyes set on becoming a world champion.

In order to do that, he needs to face world-class contenders as he is currently ranked second in the world by the World Boxing Organisation (WBO).

On target

On the list of contenders is America's Jamel 'Semper Fi' Herring.

The 34-year-old Herring has held the WBO junior lightweight title since May 2019.

As of November 2019, he is ranked as the world's third best active junior lightweight by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, fifth by The Ring and eighth by BoxRec.

He has a record of 23 fights, 21 wins and two losses.

Ready to fight

Another fighter Nakathila has his sights on is Joseph 'JoJo' Diaz.

The 23-year-old American professional boxer has held the IBF junior lightweight title since January 2020. At regional level, he held the WBC-NABF and WBO-NABO featherweight titles between 2015 and 2018.

As an amateur, he competed at the 2012 Olympics as a bantamweight.

His record stands at 32 fights, 31 wins and one loss.

Unleash the scorpion

Also on Nakathila's list is Miguel 'El Alacran' Berchelt, a Mexican professional boxer who has held the WBC super featherweight title since January 2017.

Berchelt, whose nickname translates to The Scorpion, has, as of December 2019, also ranked as the world's best active super featherweight.

The 28-year-old has 38 fights, 37 wins and one loss.

Make it shake

Another Mexican fighter on the Namibian's list is Leo 'El Terremoto' Santa Cruz.

Translated as The Earthquake, Santa Cruz has held multiple world championships in four weight classes.

As of March 2019, he is ranked as the world's ninth best active boxer.

The 31-year-old has a total record of 39 fights, 37 wins, one loss and one draw.

Confident

“I can take any fight coming my way which can propel me and put me in a position to fight for a world title,” said Nakathila.

He further said during lockdown, he spent his time keeping fit and hoping for a chance to return to the ring.

“I'm determined to make history and to bring the world title to Namibia,” he added.

What could have been

Nakathila is signed to MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Promotions. He last fought in November 2019, knocking out Peter Pambeni of Zimbabwe in the eighth round of their WBO junior lightweight global title.

He was then set to defend the title against Anthony Molisane of South Africa on 28 March in the main fight of the Independence Boxing Celebration Bonanza, but the bout was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
