More winter on the way
The last few days may have felt like spring is in the air, but weather experts warn that it is not yet time to pack away the jerseys, as more cold weather is expected.
Severe cold accompanied with rain is expected next week.
South African meteorology Professor Peet Pienaar warns that Namibia can expect a change in its weather pattern from next week, when a cold front is expected to move in.
According to him the change in weather - which he warns will bring very cold conditions to Namibia - will start next Monday and could last until Wednesday.
Pienaar said any rain accompanying the cold front next week would only be “winter rain” and not the start of the rainy season, which usually arrives in October.
For those who want to know when winter will finally be over, Pienaar advises that you wait for all the deciduous trees to lose their leaves.
For the coming days the Windhoek weather bureau forecasts partly cloudy and mild to warm conditions, with showers over the extreme southeast.
