More Waka Waka Moo episodes on the way
Waka Waka Moo, the cartoon show created by model and entrepreneur Luis Munana, will premiere new episodes next Wednesday.
Waka Waka Moo fanatics can look forward to more content.
In a sit-down with tjil, Munana shared that he is excited for viewers to see what the team has been crafting. New elements have been added to the show to make it more interesting and engaging.
“We have introduced music videos by local personalities. The songs were written for them and we just invited them in studio to sing the song and we shot the music videos,” said Munana.
The music videos carry messages such as saying no to bullying and the importance of recycling and nutrition – topics in line with the show's content.
Munana announced that these videos will be shared on YouTube as an extension of the show. “We can't post the full episodes on YouTube due to licensing. If the show is airing on TV, you can't have the episodes out on YouTube. It won't make sense.
“The content that is going to be uploaded on YouTube will have sing-along lyrics but that is after the episode has aired on TV,” he said.
He shared that all messages on the show are part of the Right Start Campaign, which is an initiative by the gender ministry, the education ministry, the health ministry and Unicef.
The campaign was launched last year with the second season of Waka Waka Moo. “We have partnered with these ministries to incorporate their messages in our episodes and also communicate it to communities when we have road shows,” he said.
On why these specific themes, Munana said the show's main aim is “to teach them these values and morals at a young age. If you learn now while you are young, it sort of moulds and shapes you into the person you are going to become tomorrow,” he said.
The show will air on NBC 1 on Wednesdays at 15:30 and Saturdays at 08:00.
