Maranatha is no stranger to putting in the work and striving to share her music with the masses.

With the release date of her second album titled Intimate Love set for Saturday, 2 November, tjil spoke to the singer about this body of work.

She shared that Intimate Love is basically a reflection of her personal walk with God. It addresses a lot of things that people go through in life. She revealed that one of the songs on the album is called Find Rest, which she says is a reminder for people to always seek comfort from God in times when they are chasing their dreams but nothing seems to work out.

“Find Rest speaks about the peace that we find in God. On that song I featured a well-known Indian-South African gospel artist Shaun P,” she revealed.

The singer announced that the official lead single from Intimate Love will be released next week. The single is called No Other Love and it features Nigeria's vocal powerhouse, Naomi Classik. “I normally stick to praise and worship but this is very different from my usual sound. It is a bit pop'ish and R&B and it will touch the heart. It has got that R&B feel-good vibe to it,” said Maranatha. On what she wants to achieve with this album, the gospel singer boldly said she is gunning for global reach. She maintains that her first album managed to reach South Africa and with this one she wants to penetrate music markets in different southern African countries and also infiltrate the Nigerian market. “I have started with the African continent. I believe my impact hasn't been fully felt yet but it is a stepping stone in ultimately going global.

“I did a show in Zambia last year; the reception to my music was awesome. I am doing a tour in Zimbabwe next year. Next year is packed with so many shows outside the country so this album needs to reach global status and that is the aim of my team and I. We are not trying to stick to the African market only,” she added.

Intimate Love will be released under Harti Music, who will be responsible for distributing it. She said that on the first day of its release, not only is it going to be available on online music stores, the physical copies will be available in Namibia, South Africa and Nigeria.

The official poster of the CD launch will be revealed next week on her social media platforms and people will find out the artists that are going to be on the line-up including D-Naff, Lady May Africa, Franklin and D'EA and more.
