WINDHOEK

Since bursting onto the music scene, Manxebe’s hustle has been evident and we are not just talking about his affiliation to big artists such as TopCheri and Tate Buti. His talent and zeal have managed to help him grip a substantial amount of people who follow his music all over the country, with his unfiltered approach to his craft.

With the release of his second album on Tuesday, 30 November, tjil took the opportunity to chat to the kwaito artist about the new offering.

Those who have at least gained some awareness of the artist will understand that being authentically kwaito is what Manxebe is all about. Right now, being different is something Namibian artists are constantly chasing to feed some empty space or curiosity they may or may not be aware of.

Having branded himself as a kwaito artist, Manxebe has figured a way to curate the music he feeds his fans.

Growth

He told tjil that, sonically, he has grown on this album.

“My growth has enabled me to score features by legendary Namibian artists like King Tee Dee and Tate Buti,” he said, adding that his goal with his debut album was to prove his capabilities, while with his second album, the intention is to sell as many copies as possible.

‘Best Album Ever’ boasts 16 songs with features by TopCheri, Qonja, Page, Phatboy Lutor and more.

On the sonic direction he took, Manxebe said: “It is a kwaito album because I am the kwaito master and I will die making kwaito music. Manxebe is for the kasi, Manxebe is for the streets.”

The album is available at all music shops around the country and via 081 816 7908.
