A 36-year-old man hanged himself at the Goreangab Dam in Wanaheda on Sunday after stabbing his girlfriend. The woman was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.
A 14-year-old girl from Tsandi is pregnant after she was allegedly raped by her uncle on several occasions. The suspect has been arrested.
At Odimbwa village near Etayi, a six-year-old girl was raped by her 20-year-old cousin on Friday. The girl and her cousin live in in the same house. The suspect has been arrested.
Wildlife crime
In another incident on Saturday at Akati village near Outapi, three Angolan men and one Namibian man were arrested after they were found in possession of two elephant tusks and a piece of pangolin bone which they were selling to undercover operatives.
The items are believed to have been imported from Angola.
A 49-year-old man was arrested at the Eveline Court parking area in Wanaheda on Friday after being found in possession of a pangolin skin that he was offering for sale.
In a separate incident at Rundu on Friday, two men were arrested for being in possession of two leopard skins and three pangolin skins.
Drug possession
At Kuisebmond, a 30-year-old man was arrested on Friday for dealing in 21 units of crack cocaine and 35 grams of cannabis valued at N$21 580. In a separate incident at Rehoboth, two men were arrested on Friday after they were found in possession of dagga valued at N$6 600. In another incident on Friday at Henties Bay, a 25-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of 370 grams of dagga, valued at N$12 900.
Two other men, both aged 19, were arrested on Saturday at Henties Bay after being found with 40 grams of cannabis valued at N$2 050.
Burn victim
At Onanke village near Omuthiya, a two-year-old boy died on the way to hospital on Saturday after sustaining serious burns from hot water.
It is alleged that Mutaleni Konisa had sustained the burns on 31 March but was only taken to the Omuthiya State Hospital when his condition worsened.
