Let the clashes begin!
It is an exciting time once again for learners, as the FNB Classic Clashes return to schools.
The energetic and youthful event was launched yesterday at the bank's headquarters and will see schools challenging each other in three sport codes.
Netball, rugby and football enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a series of matches between schools countrywide.
The clashes begin on Thursday when Concordia College football team battles it out with Rocky Crest High School at 14:00.
Friday will see Kolen Foundation up against West Side High School at the Arandis Sports Stadium at 14:00.
Coastal High School will be in action against Swakopmund Secondary School at the Vineta Sports Field on Saturday at 12:00.
The netball clashes will start on 15 June when Augustineum Secondary School and Academia battle it out in the first match.
The first rugby game will take place in Windhoek with Windhoek Afrikaans Privaatskool facing Tsumeb Gymnasium on 13 June.
“We have seen how the FNB Classic Clashes have transformed the lives of many individuals and we are proud of that. Like always, the best performing player of each game will receive an eWallet worth N$150,” FNB public sector banking manager Bolle Hans said.
Speaking on behalf of sport minister Erastus Uutoni, his special adviser Ludwig Hausiku lauded FNB for supporting the initiative.
The sport ministry pledged their commitment towards working hand-in-hand with corporates that are going out of their way to assist sport in the country.
