Khomas Boxing Federation to host AGM

The Khomas Boxing Federation (KBF) will host its annual general meeting on Saturday, the federation has announced.

The meeting will take place at the Katutura Multipurpose Youth Centre at 10:00 where a new executive of the federation is to be elected.

“This is very important because as a federation, we need to renew or elect the executive committee to guide and strengthen our beloved KBF.

“The federation is therefore inviting all its members to the meeting in order for them to come and elect their members,” secretary-general Ngendinomuwa Andimba said.

Members will be required to elect a chairman, vice-chairman, secretary-general, public relations officer and a treasurer.

The current Khomas executive members are: Jason Naule (chairman), Joel Ngungu (vice-chairman, Ngendinomuwa Andimba (secretary-general), John Mbenge (treasurer) and Zesora Tjipe (public relations officer).



Reports on agenda

The chairman and secretary-general will table their reports for the past year at the meeting.

After that, the members will vote for their preferred candidates to lead the boxing federation.



Progress

The federation is confident that boxing development has improved in Khomas.

Many of the boxers who made their professional debut in 2019 are believed to have come from a development programme run by the KBF.

The federation plans to focus more on young boxers as they believe the future of the sport lies with them.

The federation this year registered two additional members to bring the number of boxing clubs in the region to 14.

Bright Warriors Boxing Club and Power-Power Boxing Academy were the latest additions.
