Kamanya to be buried on Saturday

Ondonga traditional leader Vilho Sheetheni Kamanya, who died of Covid-19 complications, will be buried this Saturday at Onyaanya.
Kamanya died on 31 December 2021, at the age of 74.
Two memorial services were arranged at his home village, Onyaanya. One was held yesterday and another will be held today.
The King of Ondonga, Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo, described the late Kamanya as an active leader who strived to transform the institution of traditional leadership.
Kamanya has been described as a strong leader in traditional structures.
He had been a member of the Ondonga traditional authority since 2007, holding different positions.
Kamanya was also a former governor of the Oshikoto region.
"All the chiefs and members of Ondonga traditional authority are saddened by losing the greatest leader, because he was a dictionary and archive to all traditional leaders. Losing such a person is a great loss because we relied on him for advice and solutions to our leadership problems," Nangolo said.
The king extended his condolences to Kamanya’s wife and family.
Oshikoto governor Penda YaNdakolo said the Oshikoto region lost a hero and a teacher.
“He was always available to meet with the committee and the committee has greatly appreciated his wisdom and cooperation,” he said.
YaNdakolo added that Kamanya played a vital role in strengthening the role of traditional leadership at the local level of government.
He further said that Kamanya had contributed to the struggle of the freedom of this country.
