Jacobs cuts ties with NFA
Brave Warriors assistant coach Woody Jacobs handed in his resignation yesterday, saying that he cannot mend the broken relationship with the NFA.

Just last month, Woody Jacobs spoke out against the Namibia Football Association (NFA) which had snubbed him for the technical director's post, saying that he was overqualified.
Jacobs claimed that former South Africa Premier League club Orlando Pirates coach and Serbian national Kosta Papic as well as Holland's Peter de Gong are among the foreigners shortlisted for the post.
He further questioned the impartiality of the NFA's leaders. He said he has the qualifications and meets all requirements and it came as a surprise that he was not even shortlisted. Jacobs holds a Confederation of African Football (CAF) coaching A-licence and sports management diploma from the Nelson Mandela University and is a teacher by profession.
'It's common knowledge ever since I spoke about the outstanding salaries and technical director post that the relationship with NFA has been damaged and any relationship with the trust has been broken and is difficult to repair.
“I have taken this decision against this background and for myself as person that has always been involved in conflict in the work environment. I took a hard and honest look at myself and decided not to continue with the situation knowing that we don't see eye to eye,' he said yesterday.
No bad blood
He further said that he had a meeting with head coach Bobby Samaria and they sorted things out, “but I still think it's in everyone's interest that we cut ties. There is no bad blood from my side, and I leave with my head held high because I have given it my all.'
Jacobs thanked Samaria for the opportunity and his vote of confidence, as well as the now defunct Fifa Normalisation Committee and NFA president Ranga Haikali for the opportunity to fulfil his childhood dream.
'I think there is a good mix of upcoming coaches like Robert Nauseb and Mervin Mbakera to look at as assistants,' he said.
