International skydivers train in Nam

SPORTS REPORTER

SWAKOPMUND

Euro Invasion, a group of international skydivers, have brought their skills training camp to Swakopmund. Amongst these skydivers are world champion free-fly team AirWax, consisting of Karine Joly and Greg Crozier from France.

Not only are they lighting up Namibian skies with magical performances, but they’re also training local skydivers in the art of free-flying.

According to Wikipedia, free-flying is a skydiving discipline which began in the late 1980s involving freefalling in various vertical orientations, as opposed to the traditional ‘belly-to-earth’ orientation. The discipline is known to have originated when Olav Zipser began experimenting with non-traditional forms of body flight.

David Grauwels, a member of the world champion formation skydiving team HayaBusa will also be putting his skills on display.
