Hans takes reins at Bank Windhoek
Bank Windhoek yesterday made official the appointment of managing director Baronice Hans, effective today.
Hans had been appointed to the position of MD designate five months ago, shadowing the outgoing head of the bank, Christo de Vries.
Bank Windhoek Holdings board chairperson Koos Brandt gave a glowing account of Hans’s initial stint with the company, wishing her success at the helm.
“Baronice is a seasoned and respected Namibian banker and I am confident that she will add tremendous value and build on the success Bank Windhoek achieved under the leadership of Christo de Vries and his predecessors,” Brand said.
He extended the group’s gratitude to De Vries for his contribution to the company’s success over the past five years, including leading it through a highly successful repositioning and well-received listing on the Namibia Stock Exchange (NSX).
“Whilst being grateful for what has been achieved, there is always unfinished business and I am very excited about the appointment of Baronice Hans, and wish her the best of luck in steering the bank into the future,” De Vries said in response.
