Haikali hosts football photo exhibition
The Footballnews Photo Exhibition Project, an initiative of Just Imagine Investment and Township Productions, opened yesterday and will close on 17 October at the National Library in Windhoek.
The exhibition is a celebration of a decade of football photography by renowned administrator Mathew Haikali and features pictures taken from 1999 to 2009.
During the 14 days, a series of panel discussions will take place dealing with issues like the media and football, player rights, football development, football and education and support for the game.
These discussions will feature various roleplayers, from administrators, policymakers, activists, players, coaches and football partners.
The exhibition intends to contribute to the stimulation of football and to “put the case of football at the doorstep of the government and private sector”, for it to be prioritised, and to showcase what the sport can contribute to socio-economic development, a statement said. The exhibition is free and is open to all from 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, with the exception of the days on which the panel discussions will take place, when it will be open until 21:00.
The Footballnews Photo Exhibition Project will end with the launch of a limited-edition photo publication.
