Fresh and popping – 2020's first edition
The momentum of music releases has carried on into 2020 and doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. Tjil put together some of the crispy fresh songs to add on your playlist.
Economy – Cool Under Pressure
The music video for this song was released on 22 January and before going to print, it had almost 1 400 views on YouTube. This video portrays the realities of many Namibians in informal settlements. The song itself isn't something you would be surprised to receive from Cool Under Pressure, but if you are into music with message, this one is for you.
New Jive – DJ Alba ft King Elegant and Don Kamati
Sonically, New Jive is something new from DJ Alba. But it's just as nice, and she couldn't have chosen better artists for the track. King Elegant and Don Kamati were really the perfect fit. Listening to this song is so refreshing and it doesn't hurt that DJ Alba has a good ear for beats.
Young and Favoured – Kevo Maro
Off his forthcoming album, young rapper Kevo Maro teases the sound he is going for on Young and Favoured. When you can't decide whether you want to turn up, swag out or reminisce over an estranged ex, this song is for you. It's available on SoundCloud.
Too Young – Jaleel
Released earlier this week, Jaleel is back to reclaim his title as the king of R&B with Too Young. It isn't anything different from what Jaleel is known for but it's a decent listen. I must admit, I wasn't sold at first, but I gave it another listen and I've had it on rotation ever since.
