WINDHOEK
With the country on lockdown, artists are dropping more music than we know what to do with, and tjil couldn’t let these homegrown tracks escape your listening pleasure.
So, we present you with the second instalment of Fresh and Popping: Lockdown Edition.
This is our pick of hottest tracks to infiltrate radio and online music platforms right now.
Scared – Vikta Juiceboy featuring Tulisan
Vikta Juiceboy has without a doubt been causing quite a stir in the game. He released this single last weekend, and with Scared, you get a taste of how seriously he takes his art.
Produced by award-winning producer DJ Chronic, the single features Namibian Annual Music Awards best kwaito nominee, Tulisan.
Jealousy – Kp Illest
Off his latest album Faith and Favour, Jealousy just received visuals directed by Maria Nepembe, who also stars in the video as Kp Illest’s girlfriend.
The storyline is about temptation thrown at rappers and the hate they endure, and it highlights how you can be a star and still be faithful to your woman.
If you have a loving and supportive woman, get the bag and go back home to your woman, boys! Learn from Kp.
There Is Hope – Maranatha
We wouldn’t be surprised if some of you haven’t heard this song yet, because if all of you had, we wouldn’t have to keep finding hidden Namibian gems for you.
“I wrote a song dedicated to everyone affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Please share with your family and friends, I believe there is hope,” said Maranatha of her latest offering.
The song is available on Donlu Africa.
Tears and Blessings Freestyle – Don Kamati
The dancehall king is paying homage to the legendary Jackson Kaujeua on his latest freestyle.
It’s a solid song that’ll make you wish it was longer than its 1 minute and 53 seconds, but we understand it’s just a freestyle.
It’s also impressive that he shot a stunning music video for it. Check it out on YouTube if you haven’t already.
All For Me - Diolini
Singer Diolini keeps getting better and better. The UMB Academy signee has got us waiting for the rest of Namibia to catch on, because she is about to blow up soon. Trust us!
Her latest offering All For Me is available on SoundCloud, and is a breath of fresh air.
