First-time winner at 71!
Petrus du Plooy (71) answered a call two weeks ago informing him that he was a winner, although he had yet to find out what he had won.
A week later he received another call sharing with him that he was the lucky winner of a food trailer.
Four other shoppers - Paulus Jacob, Jessica Kharoses, Paavo Shikongo and Salomon – got similar calls with the good news that they too were winners of a food trailer each.
All five winners received a Metro Cash n Carry shopping voucher worth N$5 000 each.
They took part in the Metro Cash n Carry competition which ran from 20 November 2019 to 15 January 2020. All customers had to do was spent N$200 or more at any Metro Hyper Store and sent an SMS with their details to the competition number in order to enter the competition.
In addition, 200 other shoppers received a N$500 voucher each.
Du Plooy, who was accompanied by his son to the handing over, said he already has plans for his new trailer since he recently became a food contractor for a business on the outskirts of Windhoek. He plans to park the trailer at their premises to sell refreshments there.
