Film acting workshops from the experts
He has performed in the loved South African series Generations and also acted alongside Hollywood giants Samuel L. Jackson. Dalton Ashikoto and co-actor Sello Kancube also known as Archie Moroka will be conducting a two-day film acting induction.
Ashikoto said he has been receiving calls from aspiring actors on how they can get their foot into the industry and he decided to host a film acting workshop in Windhoek and Swakopmund. The workshop in each town will accommodate 25 participants and both professionals and non-professionals are encouraged to apply. “All they need is passion, and the quest to learn. I will be sharing my acting journey, and we will be covering the fundamentals of acting, on these topics - acting for film techniques, monologue, voice and movement and business of acting just to mention a few,” said Ashikoto.
The duo will also be holding auditions in search for talent mostly and people who are suitable to play a role in a short web series. “The web series is independent but we would like to give an opportunity to at least one participant per workshop to partake in the Johannesburg shoot. All expenses to Johannesburg will be fully paid for,” Ashikoto said.
Registration fee is N$2 500 which will include training for two full days; Windhoek: 1 and 2 April 2017, 09:00 to 17:00 and Swakopmund: 29 and 30 April 2017, from 09:00 to 17:00.
