Ex-Bafana captain back in the fold

Former captain Bongani Khumalo has been recalled to the Bafana Bafana squad for the forthcoming 2014 World Cup qualifier against Botswana in Durban, South Africa's national football coach Gordon Igesund announced yesterday.
The England-based defender has not played for South Africa since the African Nations Cup (AFCON) in January.
He returns to the team after his winter move to English Championship side Doncaster Rovers, where he impressed in the opening weeks of the season.
Another player receiving a call-up for the first time this year is the Dutch-based midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo, who plays for PEC Zwolle, and is the only uncapped player in the 23-man squad.
The match is crucial for the national team's hopes of progressing to the final round of the qualifying stages for the 2014 World Cup, which will be held in Brazil.
Second-placed Bafana Bafana must win the Group A clash and hope current log leaders Ethiopia fail against Central African Republic.
Bafana squad: Goalkeepers: Itumeleng Khune, Wayne Sandilands and Senzo Meyiwa.
Defenders: Siyanda Xulu, Bongani Khumalo, Thabo Nthethe, Anele Ngcongca, Tsepo Masilela, Thabo Matlaba and Buhle Mkhwanazi.
Midfielders: Dean Furman, Oupa Manyisa, Andile Jali, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bongani Zungu, Kamohelo Mokotjo, Daine Klate, Kagisho Dikgacoi and Thulani Serero.
Strikers: Bernard Parker, Tokelo Rantie and Kermit Erasmus.
