Energy 100FM and Radio Wave now available on GOtv
Subscribers of GOtv in Namibia can now enjoy an extended line-up of music, news, business, technology and sports programming by tuning into Energy 100FM and Radiowave, which will now be available on channel 301 and 302 on GOtv and GOtv Plus.
The announcement comes at a time when Namibia joins the rest of the continent in the migration to digital broadcasting.
“We are thrilled to launch the first two audio channels on the GOtv digital terrestrial television platform with two extremely popular radio stations in Namibia. This is a great extension of the GOtv brand as our business is centred on great local and international entertainment, sports and lifestyle content for the whole family. It also speaks to our continued efforts to be pioneers in the digital spaceâ€, said Roger Gertze, general manager of MultiChoice Namibia.
David Bishop, marketing and promotions manager at Radiowave, said radio and TV would seem to be in direct competition, but the partnership with MultiChoice Namibia has proven that wrong.
“Over the years, Radiowave and MultiChoice Namibia have built a very strong mutually beneficial relationship, which will undoubtedly get stronger with the inclusion of Radiowave on the GOtv platform. This is just the beginning and we wish to congratulate MultiChoice Namibia on its move towards the digital migration journey. As our partnership grows, we will continue to support them in their effort to enhance television viewing experiences in the homes of all Namibians.â€
Jossy Ailonga, station manager of Energy 100FM, said Radio Energy 100FM has been on the DStv platform for over 10 years. “Being the first youth radio station in Namibia, Energy 100FM is proud to be on the GOtv audio bouquet as this is a great opportunity to entertain and inform more people in and around Namibia.â€
Radiowave is the number one adult contemporary music station in Namibia while Energy 100FM offers variety programming ranging from musical entertainment, local and international news, to sport, business and technology.
GOtv is a digital pay television platform which uses the latest DVB-T2 technology to deliver digital-quality sound and a crystal-clear picture to enhance viewing. Committed to delivering the best family entertainment, GOtv offers viewers the best local and international channels ranging from news, children’s programming, documentaries and series to sport and movies. The channel line-up is uniquely placed to allow it to become the home of African television with local channels made in Africa, for Africa.
