Teams will be desperate to make their mark with the FNB Classic Clashes now entering the final stages of this year’s edition.
Last week it was the chance of Edugate Academy, who met Moria Private School, and Etosha High, who faced Otjiwarongo Secondary School, to host netball matches.
In the end, Edugate claimed a 51-11 win while Otjiwarongo upset their host with a 48-8 wins.
According to FNB Namibia’s Revonia Kahivere hosts Edugate Academy scored first and from there never looked back with veteran player Deorette van der Merwe especially doing an outstanding job in controlling the game.
“These great qualities have contributed to the fact that she has been chosen to represent Namibia in the U19 national team for 2016,” Kahivere said.
Vigo Hero of the match and FNB woman of the match was Monique Grobler from Edugate Academy.
In the Otjiwarongo/ Etosha match, the last netball match this year’s FNB Classic Clashes, Elizabeth Uiras from Etosha Secondary School played her heart out despite her team being on the losing; earning her the title of FNB Woman of the Match.
Peter Kazwela of Etosha Secondary School was voted Vigo Hero for his leadership qualities as Head Boy.
Last weekend Mariental and PK de Villiers met on the rugby field in Mariental.
The hosts Mariental High School beat their opponents with 19-15 points. Zwangile Kooper of Mariental HS was crowned Vigo Hero of the match while Ginaldo Kisting, also of Mariental High School walked away with the title of FNB Classic Clash man of the match.
The Next matches in the FNB Classic Clashes will see Concordia and Rocky Crest meeting on the football field.
That match will take place at the Concordia Soccer Field on 1 July.
There will also be rugby action this week as Walvis Bay PHS and HTS are set to compete at 11:00 at the Hage Geingob Stadium on Saturday, 2 July.
