Brave Warriors settle in at Golden Arrows
Namibian internationals Chris Katjiukua and Deon Hotto, who recently joined South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Golden Arrows, appear to be ready to make their debuts for the Durban-based team.
The two were recruited from Bidvest Namibia Cup holders African Stars earlier this month and already have profiles created on Arrows’ website.
According to the website, Hotto is considered as a promising player and “has a lot of skills that can be used on the park.â€
It goes on to describe Katjiukua as a “valued player who has been recruited to add to the defensive strategies for the team.â€
Arrows is also home to another Namibian, Rudolf Bester, who is at the club on loan from Orlando Pirates.
At this stage, Arrows are at the bottom of the PSL with just 10 points from 15 games and the club will be hoping that the two players as well as a host of other recruits, which includes a Ghanaian (Seth Owusu) and a Zambian (Festus Mbewe), will help the club fight relegation from that country’s elite league.
According to reports, Katjiukua’s papers are not yet sorted out as he is still awaiting his work permit.
Hotto, meanwhile, might get the chance play in Arrows’ colours for the first time next month when the team travels to Pretoria to face Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on February 5.
