Bothma recovering well
He may have broken his arm three times, but Renaldo Bothma is determined to be back on the pitch.
Namibia national rugby team player Renaldo Botha says he is recovering well from a broken arm sustained about two months ago.
The Harlequins player broke his arm for the third time in seven months in January while playing for the club.
“I am doing great and I went for another scan on Wednesday and I must say that the results are very positive.
“I do believe that I will be able to return for the world cup qualifying matches in June,” Bothma said.
Meanwhile, the player said that he started two businesses to keep him busy during his injury.
“I also started up two businesses in the last six months, so I have been busy.”
Renaldo Bothma is a South African-born Namibian rugby union player.
His favourite position has often been in the role of a flanker were he has been most influential for club and country.
Bothma has played for big clubs like Blue Bulls, Golden Lions, Leopards, Sharks and the Pumas before joining his current club.
In 2013, he was included in a South Africa President's XV team that played in the 2013 IRB Tbilisi Cup and won the tournament after winning all three matches.
He initially joined the Sharks for the 2015 and 2016 Super Rugby seasons, with a clause to return to the Pumas for the Currie Cup competition in those seasons.
However, due to his involvement with Namibia at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, he didn't play for the Pumas in the 2015 Currie Cup Premier Division.
In March 2016, during the 2016 Super Rugby season, he gained an early release from his contract with the Sharks to join Pretoria-based Super Rugby side the Bulls.
He recently signed a three-year deal to join English Premiership side Harlequins prior to the 2017/18 season.
He made his debut for Harlequins on 3 December 2017, against European Champions Saracens, in the Aviva Premiership.
