Bokomo Namibia has announced that it will become the official sponsor of the Youth Football Academy of Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) and the Swakopmund Football Club (SFC).

The official sponsorship agreements are to the value of N$300 000 per year, and are expected to run for two years, totalling N$600 000.

A leading manufacturer and distributor of trusted brands such as Bokomo Wheat Flour and Bokomo Maize, the company is eager to continue making the dreams of young players a reality.

“I am very happy that we can finally expand our sponsorships of youth football in Namibia and that we have found two partners who share the same values and commitment to the development of youth football,” Hubertus Hamm, CEO of Bokomo Namibia, said.

“Bokomo Namibia, through our Liquifruit brand, is already a sponsor of the Liquifruit Youth Football League in Windhoek and we are happy that we can deepen our involvement and expand our support to the Coast as well,” Hamm added.

He said providing nutrition to children and adults is at the core of their vision and sponsorship.

He believes that the involvement will enable Bokomo Namibia to expand the youth development objective to the physical, psychological, social, technical and tactical skills.

Means the world

Gerald Günther, the technical director and head coach of SFC, said: “This sponsorship means the world to the club and we will forever be grateful, especially since the sponsorship also supports 20 players from an underprivileged background.

“The players have worked hard to be part of the 20 and with the generous support of Bokomo Namibia, we can continue to add value to their lives by providing them with quality coaching and assistance through social and life skills.”

He added that the sponsorship will also enable the club to invest in new kits and equipment and to support the coaching staff, which he believes will create a feeling of unity and belonging.

“We also stand to serve our beautiful country. We love to help as many players as possible to achieve their dreams – not just by becoming professional football players, but also by becoming well-disciplined and educated individuals, in order to take on life and serve the Namibian community,” Günther said.

Opportunities

Vincent Molzahn, chairman of SKW, shared the same sentiments, saying the SKW Youth Football Academy team is grateful.

“We are extremely grateful to Bokomo Namibia in supporting our efforts. This sponsorship will enable the club to continue offering our young players the facilities, coaching and sporting opportunities they deserve,” he said.
