Body of Namibian won't be repatriated from UK

OGONE TLHAGE WINDHOEK International relations minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has confirmed the death of Namibian expatriate Abiud Uazeua in the United Kingdom from a coronavirus-related infection.Uazeua is reported to have died from the virus on Saturday, according to family spokesperson Uazereka Katjihingua.Namibia's high commissioner to the United Kingdom, Linda Scott, said Uazeua had died from a coronavirus-related infection.She further confirmed that Uazeua's wife and child had been infected, but that only the deceased became ill enough to require hospitalisation. “Mrs Uazeua and her children were at the hospital at the time of Mr Uazeua's passing and are under isolation for the next seven days.”Scott added that his body will not be repatriated to Namibia for burial.According to Katjihingua, Uazeua's wife and one child are still in hospital, while their condition is unknown at this stage. Funeral arrangementsHe added that Uazeua's family members were meeting at his home village of Omatanga in the Okakarara constituency, where arrangements will be made for his funeral. Katjihingua said they were still waiting to hear about the way forward from government.
