The Hoachanas Development Trust Football League ended with Black Stars on 36 points and Stout Makers in second with 34 points.

Black Stars Football Club (FC) were crowned champions of the inaugural Hoachanas Development Trust Football League, after defeating Bafana Eleven 2-0 in the final match of the season on Saturday.

Black Stars needed a win to shake off a challenge by nearest rivals Biwa Eleven, who were hoping for a herculean effort from Bafana Eleven to win by more than 15 goals.

The league ended with Black Stars on 36 points, Stout Makers in second with 34 points, after a 4-0 thrashing of Sunrise FC, and Biwa Eleven third on 33 points.

In other matches played on Saturday, Sunrise FC defeated //Kho-Khoën 2-0, while //Goa-!Haob fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bafana Eleven.

Hoachanas Children Fund ended in fourth spot with 31 points, followed by Bafana Eleven in fifth with 26 points.

//Kho-Khoën ended in sixth spot with 23 points, followed by SKW United in seventh spot with 10 points. Sunrise FC were in eighth spot with nine points and ||Goa-!Haob with four points occupied tenth spot.

Meanwhile, the league also rewarded the best performers with individual prizes.

Stout Makers player Johannes //Kheibeb, won the golden boot award after top-scoring with 25 goals and was also voted the players' player of the season and received a combined N$1 000. The best goalkeeper award went to Black Stars' Sauce lHaubab, who received N$500, while Black Stars coach Petrus Tsamaseb won the coach of the season award and walked away with N$500.

The most disciplined team award went to //Goa-!Haob FC, who received N$1 000, while the most motivated team award went to Sunrise FC and they received N$500.

A total of 256 goals were scored, with Stout Makers being most lethal in front of goal with 45 and //Goa-!Haob conceding the most (69).

Biwa Eleven had the most solid defence after only letting in six goals all season.

Black Stars and Stout Makers won 11 matches each, the most number for the league, while Sunrise and //Goa-!Haob shared the most losses with 13 each.

Hoachanas Children Fund had the most draws (four), while Stout Makers had the fewest drawn matches (one).
