A 53-year-old man allegedly hit a 30-year-old woman with his fist on the chest on Friday afternoon at Stampriet and later stepped on her head with his boots until it started bleeding.

The incident reportedly happened at the Stampriet Beer House and the man has been arrested.

At Tsumkwe, the body of a 21-year-old woman was found in the bush on Friday night by a family member who was on their way to work. This followed after a visit from her ex-boyfriend on the same night.

It is alleged that during the night a 21-year-old ex-boyfriend was at the house of the deceased, !Koce Nanca, and started troubling her. The relationship between them reportedly ended in November last year.

According to the police, he apparently grabbed her and pulled her out in the yard by force and then left with her.

“This was happening in the presence of the deceased sisters. The sisters kept on calling her, hoping to find where she was, but unfortunately there was no response.” Police investigations continue.

In another incident at Kamanjab, a disabled 19-year-old girl was raped on Saturday by a 28-year-old man. It is alleged that the girl was drinking with her two stepsisters since Friday afternoon after she had received her social grant money and at about 23:00, the sisters left her at home. While she was asleep, the man entered her room and raped her.

According to the police the girl was so intoxicated that she could not defend herself until the two sisters came to her rescue. The man apparently fought off the two sisters, jumped through the window and fled, but was later arrested.

At Okatape, a 62-year-old woman was raped by an unknown suspect on Friday. It is alleged that the woman was on her way home from a cuca shop when the suspect came from behind and attacked her. He has not been arrested.
