Bank Windhoek internet banking revamped

Bank Windhoek yesterday announced plans to roll out a new and improved internet banking product next month. Bank Windhoek Business Development Officer for Electronic Channels, Harrycio Landsberg, said the new product would introduce a number of new functionalities, but would maintain the original web address and retain a familiar interface. He added that due to technological advances, the new product would discontinue support for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 and versions before that, as these had become obsolete. Internet Explorer 8 was the last version of the web browser to run on Microsoft’s discontinued Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP. “The new iBank platform was designed with clients in mind, as they were consulted during the designing process to ensure that the new service, with its new design and added functionalities, meets their needs and expectations,” Landsberg said. “Bank Windhoek will continue to update its technology offerings to keep up with advances and keep them relevant to clients,” he added. Among the new functions is an option to cancel post-dated transactions. Other transactions already possible via iBank include payments to any Namclear or Bankserv-registered bank in Namibia or South Africa, third-party payments and fund transfers between accounts.
