The finance ministry has confirmed that of the 970 720 applications received for the N$750 coronavirus emergency income grant (EIG), 576 104 applications were approved for payment to the tune of N$432 million.

A whopping 394 616 applications were rejected.

The deadline for applications closed at midnight on 30 April and no new ones will be accepted.
