A major role for positive social impact
Having recently joined the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF), Ndiipanda Iizyenda shares that the fund offers a stimulating environment with daily challenges and supportive team members who assist in providing a journey within the organisation that will have an upward trajectory in terms of growth. He is the current property equity analyst in the investments department.
Iizyenda earned a bachelor of commerce degree, majoring in investment management, from Stellenbosch University. While pursuing his qualification, he managed to simultaneously complete several short courses such as registered persons for bonds and equities via the South African Institute of Financial Markets as well as a University of Cape Town certificate in financing and valuing commercial property. Currently, Iizyenda is a final-level chartered alternative investment analyst candidate.

Iizyenda has always been passionate about the world of investments and took on courses to complement his career exposure to equity research at Sanlam Investment Management Namibia, derivatives and money market instruments at ABSA Capital Alternative Asset Management, real estate transactions at Rand Merchant Bank, and wealth management at Point Break Wealth Management.
“As I progressed in my career, I realised that an investment team plays a major role regarding social impact in the lives of ordinary Namibian citizens and beneficiaries of the fund. Affordable housing has been a major issue in Namibia and is a solvable challenge if all the right processes are put in place,” he said.
Iizyenda added that the best thing about his job is analysing transactions and solving daily challenges that arise with each mandate. While enjoying and developing his job, he has picked up lessons on the way. He said he has learnt that teamwork is vital, and being surrounded by supportive team members who are willing to go the extra mile to solve problems is a real plus.
In his free time, Iizyenda enjoys watching documentaries, assessing and implementing agricultural projects, exercising and watching sports with friends.
