Thee Style With Carolz interior design company was founded by 31-year-old Carolina Kaleyi Njamba in 2019.

Born and raised in Okahandja, the vibrant interior decorator, influencer and entrepreneur duly gives all inspiration credit to her mother.

“I grew up in a house where my mom loved buying household furniture. I think it was her obsession at the time. As a child, I found it very interesting to rearrange our living room and kitchen with what my mom bought. I love that interior décor gives me the opportunity to learn and build skills in many areas both inside and outside of home design,” she said.

Aims

Njamba said with Thee Style With Carolz, she aspires to convey the sense of passion she feel about her craft and her clients through her work each day. She hopes to challenge and inspire generations of clients through design born of adversity, innovation, collaboration and layers. This while creating a design that works and excites enthusiastic admiration and approval.

“We offer sophisticated designs, make interior spaces more aesthetically pleasing and functionally useful for occupants. We create masterpieces and make the most of their potential by incorporating unique features per the client’s personality.”

Helping hand

Thee Style With Carolz utilises social media and fellow influencers to promote its mandate. The company's services range from the decoration of homes and office spaces to consultations. She uses the company's Instagram and Facebook pages to share tips to on where to get the best home decor items, influencing them to buy or use certain furniture for their home or office space.

“If you want a different feel, different look or a whole revamp of your space, be it big or small, we are your point of contact. We have worked with the likes of Herstyle Fashion Boutique, sponsoring their online competition. We gifted the competition winner some great home décor content. We have also donated sanitary pads to young girls and clothing to the less fortunate in Okahandja.”

Expertise

Njamba said her team received crucial skills from an interior designing course with Zita Jesus of Orange Peel Interiors and a 'becoming a brand influencer' course with Pombili Shilongo. They have since managed to grow their followers, securing over 12 000 followers on their Instagram account.

“We are pleased to be receiving quite a number of requests for our services from other towns besides Windhoek and Okahandja. The feedback we get from rendering these services is appealing and motivating.”

Perseverance

Despite business booming, she said she still comes across challenges involving labour and material. Managing costs has also proven to be tricky at times as last-minute changes tend to stretch the initial budget. However, she said she is working on sticking to the allocated budget and making do.

“I urge my fellow entrepreneurs to have hope as it allows one to see light despite prolonged darkness. There was never a night or problem that could defeat sunrise or hope. Let your hopes, not your hurt, shape your future. Looking for hope outside oneself is the biggest mistake we could ever make.”
