I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of president Hage Geingob. His leadership and dedication to the people of Namibia have left an indelible mark on the nation and beyond. The impact he has had on the youth and Namibia's education system is truly immeasurable.

His Excellency inspired the youth to become pioneers. He supported curriculum reforms to modernise and improve the quality of education in Namibia.

President Geingob will be remembered for his slogans, such as the unified Namibian House, and his drive to install systems, processes and institutions. He was truly one of the greatest leaders Africa has ever seen and his legacy will live on.

And, as good leaders do, he thrived in the face of adversity. Moreover, during his second term in office, we saw prosperity dawn on the horizon with the discovery of oil off the Namibian coast and the green hydrogen developments.
