Pelegia Zimny: Dancer and actor
'If you really want something, you have to put in the time'
Pelegia Zimny is a 17-year-old dancer who will represent Namibia at the World Championships. “The upcoming event is making me nervous, yet I am very excited to meet new people,” she said.
Zimny started dancing when she was only five years old. She would always dance around the house, until one day her mother signed her up for ballet classes. For the next seven years, she did ballet until she discovered her love for hip-hop.
“What I am looking forward to the most is to show people my passion and to explore the city of Los Angeles,” Zimny mentions.
Zimny will perform three dances and an open act at the championships. She has been practicing every week for the last four months to prepare. She specifically thanked her mother and her dance coach, Shawn Douglas, for supporting her through the process.
