The team at Africa Commercial Vehicles (ACV) knows about big machines and now they are pushing New Holland’s range of impressive TT series tractors, according to general manager Sindy-Leigh Beukes.

Having been the first to distribute Iveco vehicles in Namibia when founded back in 1995, before they brought the FAW brand to the country, ACV's focus is now on New Holland.

Since starting to distribute New Holland machines in Namibia in 2019, these passionate people have upped their game and currently present an incredible special offer - a New Holland TT 4.90 for only N$555 500, including two free service visits to your farm.

Beukes explained that apart from their dealerships in Windhoek and Walvis Bay, ACV boasts a list of authorised repairers across the country, ensuring that their clients can always get the job at hand done.

According to workshop manager Frans Shikonda, the TT series of tractors already enjoys a reputation for versatility and productivity. The TT 4.90 can be deployed in any environment, and always gets the job done - be it ploughing or harvesting, he said.

“The TT series is known for adaptability. It is multifaceted for multiple tasks. Just attach the right implement and do whatever work you want to do,” he added.

“It is not only for farming. For instance, if you have a brick project, mount a trailer and do your bricks. Mount the front loader if you need to do field work. You can also plough and do all sorts of activities,” he noted.

ACV will happily supply whatever add-on is desired. “Request it and we'll get it for you,” he said and, “all you do is ring and then we are there".

Extra power

Featuring a four-cylinder turbo charged engine for extra power, the latest emission reduction technology and superior engine efficiency, he described the TT 4.90 special offer as a real bargain. “To get this kind of tractor for N$555 500 and now plus the two services, including the travel is a real bargain."

According to Shikonda, “New Holland clients love the brand. Agriculture is growing fast and people buy because of the price, the availability of parts, as well as the maintenance and service we give, which includes technical training so that clients can do preventative maintenance.

"We also do on-site diagnostics. I love the feedback we get from our clients,” he said.

The one-year warrantee on the drive train including major components also helps keep clients happy.

The four-wheel driven tractor is perfect for farming, boasting 90 horsepower and able to generate 340Nm of torque at 1 400rpm. At a little over three tonnes, this workhorse is plenty big enough, while the TT 75 that ACV also supplies (now less 25%) is suited for those who want something a little smaller but still very capable.

The Synchomesh transmission provides 12 forward and 12 reverse gears, and as Shikonda told the My.Na Cars 'People’s Passenger Princess' Diana Master, the vehicle is easy to drive and easy to operate.

ACV also partners with Agra Namibia and others like Windhoek Livestock Auctioneers to take the New Holland TT series around and display the tractors where the farmers gather. As co-sponsor of the Agra weaner auction 2023 series, you can go to see the TT 4.90 up close and personal when ACV brings the New Holland tractors to the next auction in Outjo on 18 July, Otjiwarongo on 20 July, Otavi on 21 July and on that same date to Gobabis.
