Seasoned real estate agent Hans Iipinge provided valuable insights into the world of real estate during a recent interview.

He offered tips for first-time home buyers and shed light on his approach to matching clients with their dream properties. With over 10 years of experience in the field, Iipinge has learnt valuable lessons that he believes are crucial for aspiring real estate agents.

When asked about his decision to pursue a career in real estate, Iipinge said real estate is not commonly taught in schools, but the chance to interact with people regularly and gain insights into property dynamics drove him to become a real estate agent. "What actually led to me becoming a real estate agent is the fact that I like selling things," he added.

Finding the perfect home

For first-time home buyers, Iipinge emphasised the importance of clarity and preparedness. He provided three essential tips:

"You need to know how much you want to spend on a property, the areas you would want to live in, and you should also know what exactly you want." Iipinge also advised buyers to decide on the type of property they desire, whether it's a freestanding house, a flat or a piece of land for building from scratch.

Matching clients with the right property is a nuanced process that Iipinge approaches with careful consideration. "Getting to match somebody with a property is different every time," he explained.

Hans stressed the need to understand the client's specific requirements and preferences, which often involve open discussions over coffee or via telephone. By taking note of their needs, he aims to find the perfect property that aligns with their vision.

Keep it friendly

For homeowners looking to sell their properties, Iipinge had a straightforward piece of advice: "Just clean up your property." He recommended sprucing up the house with a fresh coat of paint and keeping it tidy. First impressions matter greatly, and a well-maintained property is more likely to attract potential buyers. A messy and unkempt house, on the other hand, could turn away potential clients.

Drawing from his decade-long experience in the real estate game, Iipinge shared some valuable wisdom for aspiring agents. "Make and have connections," he advised, underscoring the significance of building a network within the industry. Additionally, he emphasised the importance of being friendly and outgoing, as these qualities help in establishing rapport with clients and fostering successful business relationships.
