Old Mutual Namibia continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering individuals and organisations through essential financial education. In 2024, the company successfully provided training to 8 130 individuals, underscoring its dedication to enhancing financial literacy across the country.

Through tailored financial education programmes, including the flagship On the Money training, Old Mutual engaged corporate employees, students, and the broader community. The On the Money programme, inspired by the wisdom of Africa’s Big Five animals, offers practical financial principles designed to help individuals manage their money effectively and build long-term wealth.

Some of the organisations that benefited from these training sessions include the ministry of health in Gobabis, Restonic Windhoek, Be Free Youth Campus, Navachab Gold Mine in Karibib, the Walvis Bay Municipality (Men’s Mental Health Initiative), the ministry of education (Rundu Circuit Teachers Conference), Namibia Revolutionary Transport and Logistics Union (NARETU), and the University of Namibia (UNAM), among others.

To extend its reach, Old Mutual Namibia trained nine employees as financial education ambassadors through the Train the Trainer programme. These ambassadors play a crucial role in driving financial literacy initiatives, ensuring continued outreach and impact within their respective communities.

Mignon du Preez, Old Mutual Namibia’s group marketing, public affairs, and sustainability executive, emphasised the importance of financial education in creating a financially secure future. "At Old Mutual Namibia, we believe that financial literacy is key to unlocking a better tomorrow. Our commitment to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to make sound financial decisions is unwavering. By partnering with corporates, educational institutions, and communities, we are building a financially confident nation."
