NBL receives top tax contributor award
Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) was recently awarded the 'Overall Highest Trader Revenue Contribution' for the year 2023.
The award from the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) showcases the NBL’s tax compliance and overall positive contribution to the development of the local economy.
NBL was awarded in the category of 'Highest Contributor of Customs and Excise', which relates to the revenue collected mainly on customs and excise duties and value-added tax (VAT) for the period January to December 2023.
Upon receiving the award, NBL’s finance director Waldemar von Lieres, said NBL was a good corporate citizen, fully tax-compliant in line with Namibia’s laws and regulations. "Through this gesture, we are pleased with the acknowledgement that we continue to contribute meaningfully to the country’s social and economic business environment," von Lieres said.
He said the award not only speaks to the company’s values of good business practice but also goes a long way in positively impacting the lives of Namibians through tax compliance. This is ultimately aligned with NBL’s sustainability agenda, 'Brewing a Better Namibia for the Future', he said.
