In partnership with Rent-a-Drum, Capricorn Group promotes sustainability by launching its 4R Sustainability Campaign. Initiated at the beginning of the year, the campaign emphasises the

principles of Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. It encourages people to choose wisely when handling their office and household waste.

Through this initiative, Capricorn Group employees actively participate in activities that highlight the impact of waste on the environment and landfills, the lifespan of various waste materials,

and how small behavioural changes can contribute to a healthier planet. The campaign reinforces the message that sustainability is not just a corporate responsibility but a personal

one.

Capricorn Group CEO David Nuyoma emphasised that sustainability is a habit that extends beyond the workplace. “The mindset and practices developed at work will naturally influence

our employees’ choices at home. By sharing their insights with family and friends, they become true Connectors of Positive Change in their communities, creating a ripple effect of positive

change,” he said.

Riaan Vermeulen, Managing Director of Rent-A-Drum, highlighted the critical role of proper waste separation in achieving effective recycling at home and in the workplace. “By understanding how to sort waste correctly, we can greatly improve our recycling efforts,” he said.

He emphasised the convenience of their residential clear bag recycling service in Windhoek, making it easier for households to engage in sustainable practices. “To help households adopt

sustainable practices, start with one bin for general waste and another for mixed recyclables. At Rent-A-Drum, we make recycling easy for Windhoek residents with our weekly collection service for mixed recyclables. This way, recycling is simple and accessible.”

As the world adapts to environmental challenges, Namibians are increasingly adopting a sustainability mindset, not just for today but for the future. By making better waste management decisions, people can help reduce pollution, conserve resources, and create a lasting impact.
